Hello all, Hope you had a a great Christmas! I spent the better part of the week baking and making this cake! It is an ivory wedding cake, my first request for ivory color. So I was a little nervous about getting the perfect shade mixed in just right. I used the Ameri-color food color gel in Ivory and it worked like a charm! There were some exciting ideas here like the purple ombre layers in the middle tier for the cutting of the cake. Can't wait to see those pictures!
Tiers include red velvet with cream cheese filling, Vanilla purple ombre layers (3), and lemon with lemon filling.

I got the challenge to do an Iron Maiden cake. I was given a reference image of this skeletal guy and told he is called Freddy. This was sort of challenging, but I I sculpted the face out of white fondant and then painted on it with food coloring mixed with vodka (the alcohol evaporates immediately). The hair is all fondant from an extruder (gotta get a better one of those some day). I had the husband use his man muscles to squeeze out all that hair, it was tough! Once it was placed on the cake with a bit of water I touched it up with some brown for added dimension. Rock on!

Maybe I'm biased but I think this is my favorite minion cake I have ever seen, and I made it! Layers of chocolate and vanilla make up this little man. A real cupcake with icing look fondant top it off. The thing I love about this is that it's for a grown adult! Hey, we are all kids at heart!!

This 18 year old loves to read. Her dad said she loves zebra print and he wanted two books, to represent her growth from his little princess, with the 'Princess Diaries' to independent woman with 'Independence 101'. The cake was all red velvet with butter cream frosting under fondant.

My sister in law's sister in law was having a birthday party at her roller derby rink so I thought it would be fun to challenge myself to do this roller skate cake. .....What am I crazy?? Yes! This is one of the more detailed cakes I have ever done, but I think it turned out awesome and I got a lot of compliments on it!

A sweet cake for a brother and sister. The design changed a few times, but this is what I came up with. The stars hanging from wires were a last minute addition because it needed a little something. I realized later that I should have made a bend in the wire to stop them from whipping around, learned this from Duff. Good to know for next time because these wires had to be secured with a little white candy melt. Chocolate cake, chocolate frosting.

I was asked to do my second Dr. Seuss cake. I thought I would try to incorporate some changes to differ it from the last one I did. This time instead of a fish tier i did a Lorax tier. I also added two books made of cake. This was my first try at making book cakes so it was a little tricky. I also made a small smash cake for the cute birthday boy.
