It's been awhile since I've done a sculpted cake so when the chance to make this cake for a child in need came up I took it! I especially love the part with Alice's legs dangling out of the edible teacup, don't you? This was also a good excuse to use my little pocket watch mold again as well as some handmade gumpaste flowers I had on hand.

I have wanted to do this design for awhile! I'm so glad someone finally asked me to do it! I purchased the doll including Flounder and then incorporated them in the cake. At first I thought Ariel might be too tall and I would just sort of sit her on the cake and wrap her legs with fondant to become a tail. I decided to do it the original way the cake has been designed where she is buried in the cake and them the tail is sticking out made of fondant. This worked well once I added the rock she is sitting on. I had to incorporate some fondant seashells and brown sugar sand. I think this cake turned out very sweet.

I was asked by a photographer to create a smash cake for a styled shoot. This would be my first part of a styled shoot besides having a client buy a cake from me and use it at a shoot. It was so cool to get to know all these creative peeps! Can't wait til my next styled shoot!

I honestly don't know that much about sports, I was never good at them growing up. I was the art geek in the corner always doodling. Well not a lot has changed! Hah ha. this cake was an awesome challenge, I had the logos printed on wafer paper and created all the sports ball and uniform out of fondant. Love that little uniform!

Every year I make my sister in law a birthday cake and I decide the theme and design. she loves the Walking Dead show so I thought a zombie cake with hands coming out of a door would be great. I also had to throw in some raspberry syrup blood in there for realism.

Apparently there is a player on the SeaHawks team that really likes Skittles so much that fans started pelting them at him whenever he made a touchdown. True story. That must be the life!

This is the first time I have been asked to make a baptism cake of this size. I was beyond excited! The design she wanted included edible lace which I had tried making a few times before The cake took a lot of planning to make sure I would have enough edible lace, that it wouldn't get dried out and break into a million pieces before putting on the cake. I also did these amazing gumpaste roses and they are my favorite yet! I used several shades of gumpaste to get that effect plus dusted with pink petal dust.

A mom and daughter chose all the characters they wanted to see for this little girl's birthday. What a fun idea. I think they are super cute in cartoon/cupcake form! The cupcakes were marbled chocolate and vanilla. Yummy!

A fun cake that I got to get a little creative with. The characters are all hand drawn and painted with edible markers. the shack is made from rice krispy treats. It had a ton of detail and took forever! I really need to check out this show. It looks super fun! The puking nome is my fav!

I hand painted this cake and cake board to give it a galaxy feel. I used food color gels thinned down with water and painted on with a food only brush. After the initial colors I splattered white food on to the fondant to create dots like stars. I then added cutout stars, made a death star and added my BB8 and light sabers made of fondant covered skewers.

My first time creating a bust cake, I have wanted to try this for awhile but kept putting it off.
well I figured my husband's birthday was the perfect time to get creative. Since our last name is Batt he has always had a special connection to Batman and even had the nickname 'Joey' growing up because he liked the Joker so much. Well that would technically make him the anti-Batman then, but I digress. I guess he loved all the characters in Gotham? Anyways, the cake is a mix of flavors and the head is made from a rice krispy center covered in fondant. I like the way it turned out.

I fun cake for a child in need. The bottom of the gumball machine is an inverted giant cupcake from baking in a giant cupcake pan. The bowl is glass from the dollar store. I put a fondant covered dowel rod hanging from the top to simulate the metal piece in a gumball machine. Gumballs left over from a birthday. I think it turned out dang cute.
I don't know too much about the Dark Souls Video Game but I was given a campfire with sword picture to recreate. I made the sword with fondant over a dowel. The flames are edible wafer paper airbrushed. And cookies make up the logs over oreo dirt.

Go Utah Jazz! I did this and some other cakes for my past personal trainer. Her kids are just so sporty! Jazz logo is handcut out of fondant. I was able to balance the basketball by using dowel rods to hold the ball's cake board up with that off hang.

This cake is for a big Portland Trailblazers fan! I shaved down the bottom layers to taper down for that basketball effect and added a fun ball covered in modeling chocolate on top with the Blazers logo.

A cake for my mother in law, who is a good person but hates fondant. Fun to try to remember how to do roses in buttercream. Piped flowers are really hot right now so I did this wreath around the cake.

This is a fun show I have been introduced to within the last year. My little one just loves it! I hope the birthday girl loved it as well. The cake is vanilla with color spots, blueberry filling, cream cheese frosting and fondant.

The chevron pattern is so in! I just loved adding it to this three tier wedding cake. All the gumpaste sugar flowers are handmade. What an elegant cake!
I wanted to try my hand at making a realistic snake cake. There was a hyper realistic snake cake picture online that was going around so this is my version of it. I learned it is an albino python snake which can be kept as a pet, so not a scary snake. I also used my food color airbrush the first time on this cake, I may have added a little to much yellow to this yellow and white snake but it still is pretty accurate. The cake is vanilla with color spots inside and covered in buttercream and homemade fondant. The scale impression was added by pressing straws and then round piping tips into the fondant. I really love his face, I just think he is so cute!
